Cape Henry Collegiate’s Operations Department is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support the school’s mission and daily operations. This position focuses on the preventative and corrective maintenance of campus buildings, systems, and equipment in a fast-paced school environment.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm, with occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Position Duties (including But Not Limited To)
- Perform repair and maintenance of building systems and structures, including painting, basic electrical, plumbing, drywall, flooring, and door/window hardware
- Respond to and complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner using the electronic work order system
- Assist with event setup and breakdown, including furniture and equipment moves
- Maintain tools and equipment, including performing preventative maintenance
- Conduct general upkeep and light custodial tasks as needed
- Unlock, secure, and safeguard facilities based on assigned schedule
- Operate hand trucks, light utility vehicles, and school vans/trucks as required
- Follow established procedures and safety guidelines at all times
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Education And Experience
- Prior experience in commercial building maintenance required (school setting preferred)
- Working knowledge of basic trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC)
- Ability to safely use maintenance tools and equipment
- Ability to meet the physical demands of a hands-on role with consistent activity throughout the workday
- Basic computer skills and ability to communicate clearly (written and verbal)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required; OSHA and trade certifications are a plus
- High School Diploma
