Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of food quality.
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, providing guidance on food preparation, presentation, and safety protocols.
- Oversee food production processes, including menu planning, portion control, and inventory management to minimize waste and control costs.
- Coordinate banquet and catering services, ensuring timely setup, accurate execution, and exceptional service delivery.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all kitchen areas.
- Manage inventory control by ordering supplies, tracking stock levels, and minimizing spoilage through effective storage practices.
- Lead shift management efforts by organizing staff schedules, delegating tasks efficiently, and ensuring optimal staffing levels during peak hours.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting with a focus on fine dining or banquet services.
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu development.
- Must have developed knife skills.
- ServeSafe Certification
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a talent for team management and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and food handling safety standards.
- Experience in catering operations, restaurant management, or food service management is highly desirable.
