Summary
The PGY2 Pharmacy Resident will build upon the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of inpatient internal medicine services and other applicable learning experiences. The PGY2 Pharmacy Resident will practice as a clinical pharmacist responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions.1 year of ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency. Eligible to take the NC Pharmacy Licensing examination upon start of employment. Licensed as a pharmacist by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy (NCBOP) by September 1 of residency year. Good communication skills, both oral and written; interpersonal skills that promote cooperative peer behavior; knowledge of drugs and how they act and interact; knowledge of pharmacy laws (state and national).Visual acuity to review prescriptions, medication labels, and reports. Manual dexterity to use computer Speaking and hearing to converse with co-workers, physicians and patients.
