POSITION PURPOSE & SUMMARY |
Hybrid position - (3 days in office, 2 days work from home)
The Risk Management Specialist directs and provides support to ESA field associates, internal corporate departments, and guests, regarding hotel property, general liability, workers’ compensation, and auto liability claims via claims administration, data collection & analysis, accounting coding, monthly & specialty reporting, coaching, & training in an effort to control and/or reduce the overall cost of company’s risk exposure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Receives, reviews, evaluates, tracks and reports hotel property, general liability, auto and workers’ compensation incident reports & losses
- Documents all claims data, general correspondence, legal documents, and supporting financial reports in paperless files and the Risk Management database
- Investigate and elevate significant, sensitive, and material incidents as outlined in crisis alerting procedures
- Works with and provides guidance to company associates, guests, adjusters, & 3rd party vendors to document the facts, causes of the losses, estimated financial impact of the losses & identify subrogation opportunities
- Works with brokers, account managers, carriers, and Monopolistic State TPA’s to ensure compliance with state and federal workers’ compensation laws & notify management and associates of any changes in policies or procedures relating to workers’ compensation
- Continuous daily monitoring of emails and facilities, risk management, procurement, and insurance carrier databases
- Reviews invoices for accuracy, compensability and coding
- Reviews and monitors claims for contact and respond to investigation requests
- Requests, reviews, and inputs Regional Asset Manager reserving data into Risk Management database and Prepares Monthly Property Damage reports for accounting
- Regularly prepares and analyzes trending, ad hoc, and specialty reports as needed
- Participates in the identification, selection, & coordination of the use of TPA’s and consultants for property damage claims, subrogation, workers compensation & general liability claims adjudication
- Research, compile and follow up in regard to property claim to assist claims consultant with submissions or submits directly to the insurance carrier
- Performs additional duties as assigned
