Job Summary

INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

Incumbents in this position are responsible for the supervision of the operation, repair, and maintenance of all wastewater sludge dewatering equipment and related equipment, and the biosolids handling process. This position is assigned to pay grade G19.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist the Wastewater Superintendent with the oversight of the biosolid handling process of both Northside and Southside WWTP’s.
  • Assist technical staff with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
  • Responsible for overseeing chemical dosing and adjustments.
  • Produces required reports as needed by local and state agencies.
  • Reviews all Maximo work orders to ensure correct labor and material costs before closing work order.
  • Serves as CFPUA liaison with hauling contractor, chemical vendor, and landfill disposal site.
  • Reviews system parameters for problem areas
  • Reviews Purchase Requisitions to ensure proper coding of expenditures.
  • Develops programs to enhance system operability.
  • Prepares and/or processes purchase orders.
  • This position is a member of the organization management team and is responsible for demonstrating and holding others accountable to the CFPUA values.
  • This position is required to work in partnership with their own department and all other CFPUA departments toward achieving organizational goals.
  • This position is responsible for creating a culture of belonging and inclusion.
  • This position works in partnership with the Human Resources department to ensure staff completes all relevant employment training.
  • This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all CFPUA policies and procedures.
  • This position works in partnership with the Human Resources department to ensure compliance with federal and state employment law.
  • Makes recommendations that impact the budget.
  • Manages the budget within assigned unit/division.
  • Manages the budget within assigned department.
  • Exercises a purchasing authority up to $1,000 without approval from supervisor.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, And Other Requirements

  • Associates degree
  • Three (3) years of experience in wastewater, biosolids, or any related work field.
  • Five (5) years of wastewater, biosolids, or any related field experience in lieu of associate's degree is acceptable.
  • Requires a Grade II Wastewater license.
  • Hazwoper license is preferred.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid State of North Carolina driver's license.
