Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Engineering Assistant to support our Plant Engineer. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong engineering and mechanical skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing assistance to the Plant Engineer to ensure that the plant equipment is running smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Installation and repair: Install new equipment, service or replace faulty machinery, and respond to equipment breakdowns.
- Maintenance and inspection: Conduct routine and preventative maintenance, perform quality inspections, and test machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair malfunctions to minimize equipment downtime.
- Documentation: Keep records of maintenance tasks and material/parts consumption
- Safety and compliance: Enforce safety guidelines
- Support: Provide technical support and training to staff on equipment operation.
Qualifications and skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree or diploma in mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering field or comparable training or experience
- Experience: Experience in maintenance engineering or a related role.
- Technical skills: Operation of hand and power operated tools
- Problem-solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with various teams and management.
- Other skills: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and flexibility.
Hourly wage will be based on experience. Overtime may be required during busier seasons.
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
