At Cap's Service and Repair we are seeking a skilled and passionate Classic Car Automotive Technician to join our team. You will restore, maintain, and repair vintage, classic, and antique vehicles. This role requires a blend of traditional mechanical craftsmanship and diagnostic problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full mechanical restorations on vintage engines, transmissions, and drivetrains.
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues unique to classic vehicles.
- Source or fabricate rare, obsolete, and aftermarket components.
- Execute routine maintenance including oil changes, brake service, and tune-ups.
- Rebuild carburetors, manual steering boxes, and drum brake systems.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of restoration processes and parts used.
- Ensure the highest level of vehicle safety, quality, and historical accuracy.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years working specifically with classic or vintage cars.
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of carbureted engines and legacy electrical systems.
- Precision: High attention to detail and a strong respect for automotive history.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot without modern OBD-II diagnostic scanners.
- Tools: Ownership of a comprehensive set of standard hand and specialty tools.
- Certification: ASE certifications or specialized trade school degrees are preferred but not required.
- Driver's License: Valid license with a clean driving record to test-drive client vehicles.
