Buffalo. Community Action Organization of WNY. Success Coach. $45,000 - $50,000/year.
This position is responsible for providing one-on-one support services to individuals age 16-24. The role includes assessing basic needs, identifying barriers, developing a service strategy to address those barriers, and coordinating services to prepare and secure living wage jobs with opportunities for advancement through clearly defined career paths.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversee the selection process and supervise Peer Mentor(s).
Update and maintain Buffalo Futures digital platform, including gathering success stories to highlight on the site.
Coordinate with partners to ensure information about community programs and resources are kept current.
Responsible for intake of HUB participants, assessing vocational and educational needs, and developing a service plan for each participant.
Acts as a liaison with workforce development, educational institutions, community stakeholders, human services, and local governmental agencies across the region.
Maintains a coaching log for each HUB participant.
Prepare regular, comprehensive reports on data related to program activities and outcomes to the HUB Director.
Ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date and submit reports to appropriate agencies and HUB Director.
Develop and maintain partnerships in the public, non-profit, and private sectors to connect participants to educational and career opportunities aligned with their interests and goals.
Works to engage aspiring young professionals by leveraging relationships with community partners, building a robust referral network connecting with potential employers, and to key stakeholders facilitating presentations.
Education And Experience
Associates degree in related field.
One (1) year of experience working with individuals age 16-24
Previous Supervisory Experience Preferred.
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software preferred.
Skills And Abilities
Strong commitment in maintaining confidentiality.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and excellent computer skills and experience using a variety of social media platforms for outreach.
Understanding of the challenges that youth face (interrupted schooling, homelessness, system involvement, etc.)
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and sustain relationship with people from diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.
Must maintain strong rapport with youth and young adults.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and partners.
Ability to effectively manage time to work on multiple tasks in a high pressure/short deadline environment and must be able to adapt to changes in workload demand and priorities.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational skills.
Must be adaptable, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
Physical Demands
Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time, with occasional walking and standing.
Must be able to read, write routine reports, and speak effectively with a diverse community.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
