Job Description:
Position Summary:
Jordan High School is seeking a qualified and motivated Assistant Volleyball Coach for an immediate opening. This position will support the head coach in all aspects of the volleyball program, including athlete development, team management, and promoting a positive and respectful team culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
- Assist in organizing and conducting team tryouts; evaluate and help select student-athletes.
- Support and participate in daily practices by instructing athletes, developing skills, and improving overall performance.
- Guide athletes in physical conditioning and teach effective responses to competitive pressure.
- Ensure compliance with all school, district, and Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) rules and regulations.
- Communicate team, school, and district policies to student-athletes.
- Complete required reports, forms, and documentation in a timely manner.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants.
- Provide appropriate supervision during practices, games, locker room activities, and team travel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of volleyball coaching techniques, strategies, and athletic development.
- Previous coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Knowledge of Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) policies and procedures.
- Candidate must complete 3 required UHSAA courses and New hire paperwork within 2 weeks of hire and before you can begin coaching duties.
