Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Swim Team Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for swimming and a strong ability to educate and motivate swimmers ages 6-18 of all skill levels. As an Assistant Swim Coach, you will play a crucial role in developing youth swimmers by building proper techniques, promoting team building, and fostering a positive environment for all participants.
Duties
- Conduct practices focusing on technique improvement, skills development, and speed while keeping practices challenging and fun.
- Monitor swimmers' progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their performance.
- Promote water safety practices and ensure a safe training environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the swimming area, including equipment used during training sessions.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to maintain discipline and focus.
Requirements
- Knowledge of competitive swim strokes.
- Previous swim team experience is preferred.
- Ability to work well with swimmers ages 6-18, fellow coaches, and parents.
- A positive attitude with the capability to motivate and inspire swimmers.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate effectively.
- CPR/First Aid is preferred but willingness to obtain certification is mandatory.
- Must be able to swim proficiently and demonstrate various swimming techniques.
- Availability needed several practices per week. Mon/Tues/Thurs 5:00-7:30pm and Wed 5:00-6:30pm with drylands, occasional clinics, swim meets, and/or extra activities.
- Must pass a background check.
