Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process sales accurately and quickly
- Greet customers warmly, providing excellent customer service with a friendly attitude
- Manage cash handling responsibilities with precision, including giving correct change and balancing registers
- Assist customers with product inquiries, offering product demos and upselling items to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Conduct inventory checks, restock merchandise, and assist with stockroom organization
- Use effective phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Promote store specials and new products through engaging communication and product knowledge
Experience
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred, especially in a grocery store or gift shop environment
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is essential
- Strong communication skills to interact confidently with customers and team members
- Basic math skills for cash transactions, sales calculations, and inventory management
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, or product demos enhances your ability to succeed in this role
