Overview
We are a well-established, high-volume retail business located in a scenic, rural area. We are seeking a seasoned, independent Operations Consultant for a dedicated, short-term contract. The objective of this project is to transition the business into an autonomous model that runs smoothly and efficiently without daily owner intervention. We need a hands-on professional to audit current workflows, establish strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), overhaul our hiring and vetting processes, and successfully recruit and train a permanent, high-integrity General Manager to handle daily operations. This is an independent contract position. Corporate recruiting firms or headhunting agencies need not apply; we are looking for an individual specialist to work directly on-site.
What You Will Do:
Develop Operations Playbook: Document and create clear, standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory, customer service and daily floor management so business runs flawlessly.
Overhaul Hiring Pipeline:
Establish a rigorous vetting, interviewing and background-checking process to ensure future hires are reliable, professional and accountable.
Recruit & Onboard General Manager:
Recruit, hire and train qualified, dependable General Manager handling their direct training using newly established SOPs.
Staff Alignment:
Retrain existing team to follow protocols, establishing clear standards of efficiency and accountability.
Who You Are:
A proven operations expert, independent consultant or former manager with track record of structuring small businesses for autonomous operations. Someone who understands how to successfully source, vet and manage reliable talent in a rural market. A direct, systems-driven leader focused on efficiency and structure. Exceptional at training, leadership development, and setting clear performance boundaries.
Project Details & Compensation: Type: Contract / Project-based (Estimated 3 to 6 months).
Location: Required on-site execution at our location.
Compensation: Competitive monthly retainer or project rate commensurate with experience.
