Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for C-Team athletes, focusing on skill development, conditioning, and game strategies.
- Organize and conduct daily practices, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all participants.
- Prepare the team for games, including creating game plans, analyzing opponents, and managing in-game strategies.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship among players, coaches, and staff.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and any issues that may arise.
- Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and encourage a balance between athletics and academics.
- Collaborate with other coaching staff to ensure a cohesive football program across all levels.
- Attend coaching clinics, workshops, and meetings to stay updated on the latest coaching techniques and strategies.
- Manage equipment and supplies for the team, ensuring all gear is safe and in good condition.
- Uphold and promote the values and mission of Canyon Ridge High School and its athletic programs.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in football, preferably at the high school or youth level.
- Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes while maintaining a positive and inclusive environment.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the season).
- Must pass a background check as required by the school district.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the football season.
- A commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The employment “at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and approved by the Board of Trustees of District 411.
Employment is contingent upon board approval and successful completion of federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.
