Dining Room Assistant – Host, Expo & Busser
Location: Lakeway, Texas
Job Type: Full-time and Part-time
Canyon Grille at Rough Hollow is seeking dependable, energetic Dining Room Assistants to support our front-of-house team and help deliver an exceptional guest experience.
This is a versatile hospitality position that may include hosting, food expo, bussing, resetting tables, maintaining the dining room, and supporting servers and managers throughout each shift. The ideal candidate is attentive, organized, team-oriented, and willing to step in wherever needed.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and assist with seating and waitlist management
- Support the food expo station by checking orders and helping ensure accurate, timely delivery
- Deliver food and assist servers with guest needs
- Clear, clean, sanitize, and reset tables efficiently
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the dining room, host area, patios, and service stations
- Refill water, provide table settings, and anticipate basic guest needs
- Communicate closely with servers, bartenders, managers, and the culinary team
- Help maintain an organized flow of service during busy periods
- Respond quickly and professionally to guest requests
- Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and restaurant procedures
- Perform other front-of-house support duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, hospitality, hosting, food-running, or bussing experience is preferred
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Ability to remain organized and productive in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely lift up to 30 pounds
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Texas Food Handler certification, or willingness to obtain it
