Job Title: Enrichment Teacher (Part-Time) Organization: Canyon Elementary School District Location: Canyon, CA Rate: $60/hour Schedule: 4 hours/week (3 hours instruction, 1 hour prep) About Canyon Elementary Canyon Elementary is a small, community-centered K–8 school nestled in a redwood grove in Contra Costa County. We serve multi-age classrooms (K–1–2, 3–4–5, 6–7–8) and value strong relationships, hands-on learning, and a whole-child approach. Position Overview Canyon Elementary School District is seeking a part-time Enrichment Teacher to lead a weekly program that brings creativity, engagement, and joy to our students. We are especially interested in candidates with a background in music education, and we are also open to candidates who can offer Spanish language instruction as part of the enrichment program. This is a highly flexible role ideal for an educator or specialist who enjoys working in a small, collaborative school environment. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging enrichment lessons for K–8 students in a multi-age setting Develop a consistent weekly program (music preferred; Spanish or other enrichment areas considered) Adapt instruction to meet a range of ages and developmental levels Collaborate with classroom teachers and administration to align enrichment with school culture and goals Prepare materials and lessons during designated prep time Qualifications Valid California Teaching Credential (preferred, not required) Experience teaching music, Spanish, or other enrichment content to elementary and middle school students Ability to work effectively with multi-age groups Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills Flexibility, creativity, and a collaborative mindset Why Canyon?
