engineers responsible for design and development of new avionics
equipment including airborne equipment for radio communication and other
avionics instrumentation, along with sustaining engineering of existing
products.

Position Overview\
We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Staff Systems Engineer to
play a pivotal role in advancing the architecture, integration, and
technical excellence of our embedded airborne tactical radio systems.
Serving as the principal deputy to the Chief Engineer, this individual
will contribute to the definition and evolution of radio subsystem
architectures, ensuring adherence to aerospace standards and
mission-critical performance requirements.
This role offers the opportunity to influence technical direction,
mentor cross-functional design teams, and help uphold best engineering
practices across programs. The ideal candidate combines deep technical
expertise with strong systems thinking and leadership potential
positioning them as a future successor to the Chief Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership\
Serve as the senior deputy design authority for all embedded airborne
radio systems, ensuring alignment with technology goals and regulatory
requirements (DO-178, DO-254, DO-160, ARP4754, ARP4761, etc.).\
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for software defined digital
radio architectures, audio signal processing, and embedded real-time
control systems.\
Approve and govern system and software architectures, design patterns,
and technology selections across all product lines.\
Together with engineering leadership, spearhead the companys technical
roadmap for tactical SDRs, ensuring scalability and future readiness.
Design Governance & Best Practices
Define and enforce engineering standards, design guidelines, and
development best practices for safety-critical embedded systems.\
Lead critical design reviews, technical audits, and root cause analyses
for complex issues.\
Champion model-based system design, modular architecture, and rigorous
verification and validation practices, with INCOSE standards as the
backbone.\
Mentorship & Team Development\
Support the Engineering Manager and Chief Engineer as a teacher, coach,
and mentor to multi-disciplinary engineering teams (hardware, firmware,
software, systems, test).\
Build and nurture a culture of technical excellence, continuous
improvement, and collaboration.\
Develop training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives to elevate
team expertise in avionics radio systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration\
Provide high-l vel technical guidance to engineering leadership,
manufacturing, quality assurance, and certification entities within the
business unit.\
Interface with customers, suppliers, and certification authorities as
the recognized technical authority for radio systems.\
Support bid and proposal efforts by defining system concepts, risks, and
development estimates.
