So, if you dare to challenge the comfortable… then keep reading.The RoleThe Modern Workplace Engineer is responsible for architecting, implementing, and supporting Canvas’s cloud-first, hybrid IT environment. This role blends deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and cloud collaboration platforms with hands-on management of endpoints (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android). You will drive modernization, automation, and security across our internal systems, ensuring a seamless, secure, and productive experience for all employees.Responsibilities•Architect and maintain physical and cloud-based desktop environments using Azure Intune, Microsoft 365, and Atera •Optimize performance and reliability of cloud-based collaboration tools including Teams, Exchange, and SharePoint •Manage and secure endpoint devices (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android) and related policies•Oversee Active Directory, Group Policies, and virtual desktop environments •Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts for repeatable deployments (ARM, Terraform, etc.)•Monitor system performance, troubleshoot escalated Tier 3 issues, and ensure high availability and security•Collaborate with internal teams and MSPs to plan and maintain network infrastructure, AWS instances, and SaaS integrations •Implement and manage cloud security controls, identity and access management, and compliance measures•Document infrastructure designs, procedures, and training materials for internal teams•Participate in technical architecture, design, and implementation efforts across an agency that embraces a cloud-first approachQualifications•Bachelor’s degree preferred •5 years’ experience in a Windows support environment •2 years of hands-on Azure engineering experience (strong engineering skills required, not just familiarity) •Scripting skills (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python) preferred•Strong skills with Microsoft Azure, Google GCP, and AWS Cloud computing •Familiarity with network and telecommunication technologies•Zendesk experience is a plus Salary and BenefitsActual base salary is determined upon factors such as experience, qualifications, training, certifications, and internal equity. The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
