We are currently seeking an experienced Embedded Controls Engineer to join our client’s Electric Powertrain Control Systems team. This role will directly impact the design, development, and validation of controls for next-generation electrified powertrain products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop embedded control requirements from system-level performance and functional needs.
- Design and implement leverageable control features for various electrified powertrain architectures using model-based development (MATLAB Simulink, Stateflow).
- Perform virtual product development for system optimization, functional testing, and performance verification.
- Validate control features through simulation, lab testing, and machine-level development using CAN and Ethernet-based development tools.
- Analyze and interpret test data, identify root causes of performance issues, and document control functionality.
- Collaborate closely with global engineering teams and process partners to deliver high-quality embedded solutions aligned with project goals.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline.
- 5 years of relevant controls/embedded systems experience (or 2 years with an advanced degree).
- Strong background in automotive, hybrid, or electric powertrain systems.
- Model-based controls development using MATLAB Simulink and Stateflow.
- Hands-on experience with virtual product development and performance optimization.
- Embedded control validation in lab, machine, or vehicle environments.
- Familiarity with control software development processes and tools.
- Experience with CAN-based development tools (Vector CANape, CANalyzer, ATI Vision).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional global teams.
- Clear technical documentation and communication skills.
