The Short Version

$35/hour, 40–50 hours a week. Take-home truck and fuel card. PTO and paid holidays. Full-time, year-round — not seasonal.

We need one experienced repair technician. Not a laborer, not a crew guy — the person who finds the leak three other companies missed.

What You'll Actually Do

You'll run your own truck and your own schedule of service calls across Stark, Summit, and Wayne counties. Our office books the work and handles the customer calls. You show up, find the real problem, explain it in plain language, and fix it right the first time.

Most days that's roof leaks, flashing, and chimney work. Some days it's siding, trim, gutters, a window, or a door that's letting water in. You'll document everything with before-and-after photos.

Part of this job is quoting work. On some calls you'll price the repair and close it with the homeowner right there. Full roof replacements you hand off — you flag it with photos, our sales team runs the appointment, and you get paid when it closes.

Being straight with you about the selling side: we have sales reps, and they carry most of it. Some days your schedule is wide open and you'll have time to quote and close work yourself. Other days you're booked solid and you won't — that's the reality of a service department, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. That's why your $35 doesn't depend on it. The commission is upside on the days you have room, not something you have to hit to make a living here.

What you do need, every day: look a homeowner in the eye, tell them what's wrong and what it costs, and be honest about it.

The Schedule

Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 AM. Expect 40 to 50 hours a week — this isn't a 40-and-out job, and the hours are there if you want them. Everything over 40 is paid at $52.50.

You take the truck home, so your day starts at your first call. You're not driving to our shop to pick up a vehicle.

Saturdays come up occasionally during the busy months — always overtime, never mandatory.

What We Need From You

This is a full exterior repair position. We're paying top of the market because we need someone who already has all of it — not someone we're bringing up to speed.

• 5 years doing residential roofing repairs and leak diagnosis
• Roofing, all types — asphalt, metal, low-slope, tile, slate
• Chimney work — step flashing, counterflashing, crickets, crowns, tuckpointing on the stack. Chimneys are one of our top sources of leak calls.
• Siding, all types — vinyl, board and batten, aluminum trim and coil wrapping
• Gutters and downspouts, including soffit and fascia
• Windows, entry doors, and sliding doors — repair and replacement
• Comfortable working from ladders and on steep-slope roofs
• Able to lift 60 lbs repeatedly and work outdoors in Ohio weather
• Valid driver's license and a clean MVR — you're taking a company truck home
• Can talk to a homeowner in their driveway without it being awkward — and can price a repair and ask for the job

If you can only do roofs, this isn't the job. If you can handle everything on that list, the rate reflects it.

A plus, not a requirement: masonry — chimney rebuilds, brick and block, tuckpointing beyond the stack. We sub that work out today. If you can do it in-house, tell us. It changes the conversation.

Pay & What We Provide

• $35/hour, W2, direct deposit twice a month
• 90-day review — we'll sit down, go over how it's going, and talk about where this role goes from here
• 5% commission on repairs you sell. When your schedule allows it and you price and close a job yourself, you get paid on it. It's upside, not something your paycheck depends on.
• $500 bonus every time a roof you flag turns into a replacement. You take the photos and make the call; our sales team runs the appointment. No cap — flag five that close, get paid on five.
• Plenty of overtime available — if you want the hours, they're there. At $52.50/hr OT, a busy stretch adds up fast.
• Take-home truck, fuel card, and company phone — you're not putting miles on your own vehicle
• 5 days paid time off plus 6 paid holidays, available after 90 days
• Ohio BWC workers' comp coverage — you're a W2 employee, not a 1099
• Safety gear, harnesses, and fall protection provided — we don't cut corners on this
• Full-time, year-round position — not seasonal work

Canton Roofing Company does roofing, siding, gutters, windows, entry doors, and storm damage restoration across Northeast Ohio.

We've built this on 600 five-star Google reviews and we're not interested in the kind of work that costs us those. If you tell a homeowner their roof has five good years left, nobody here is going to second-guess you. We'd rather lose a sale than earn a one-star.

We're growing, and we're building this service department around the person who takes this job. There's a real path forward if you want it — service manager, estimator, or running a team of techs of your own.
