The Canton Housing Authority is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Secretary.
The Administrative Secretary will be responsible for phone correspondence, maintaining tenant files, reporting, work orders, rent collection, CHAMP wait list selection, and initial rent calculation.
The nature of this work suggests that the candidate shall have had prior experience in an office with direct involvement with interpersonal relations and working with financial details. Written and verbal skills to communicate with local officials, residents, applicants, and funding agencies. Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and local housing authority operations is preferable.

Hours: Monday through Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: $67,000/yr maximum
Benefits: Commonwealth of Massachusetts Health Plan

· 15 sick days per year
· 3 personal days per year
· One week vacation after 6 months
· Two (2) week vacation after one year
· Three (3) weeks vacation after 5 years
· Four (4) weeks vacation after 10 years
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of office experience
- Ability to enter data into software system
- Ability to prepare complex reports
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and being organized
- Ability to be flexible and work with deadlines
- Ability to work with the public
- Ability to read and understand instruction
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Skilled in working with complex situations
- Knowledge of State Public Housing Regulations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all assignments
- Ability to interact verbally with internal and external audiences.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass a CORI background check
- Must have High School Diploma or GED
