Canton High School- Permanent Building Substitute

Canton High School is seeking an exceptional and dynamic candidate to serve as a Full-Year Permanent Building Substitute for the upcoming school year beginning in September. JOB SUMMARY

To provide instructional and supervisory support to students. The Full-Year Permanent Building Substitute is a full-time, full-year position whose main purpose is to fill in for educational or instructional positions as needed by the building administration.  This position is an integral part of the successful day-to-day operations of building and supporting the entire school community.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Fill in as a classroom teacher, educational assistant, or support personnel as assigned by the building principal or designee
2. Support the school community, staff vacancies, and student needs
3. Be a positive and collaborative member of the school community
4. Flexibility and patience are key to success in this role

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School degree required, Bachelors preferred
2. Teaching degree preferred
3. Recent experience working with school-age children
4. Alternatives to the above qualifications, as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
5. Other requirements as deemed necessary by the Superintendent of Schools

REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Assistant Principal

SUPERVISES: Not Applicable

WORK YEAR: 180 days

COMPENSATION: $165 per day plus 5 paid days off
