We lead the way in closed die forging innovation for the aerospace, oilfield, power generation, mechanical power transmission, off-highway and railway industries.Position Overview:The Forge Helper supports forge shop operations by performing a variety of manual and equipment-assisted tasks associated with the production of closed-die forgings. This position works as part of a team to safely and efficiently move materials, operate equipment, and support forging processes in a heavy industrial environment.Key Responsibilities:Follow and assist in driving workplace safety measures – maintaining safe work practices and conditionsLoad and unload furnacesTransfer metal stock to and from furnaces, hammers, and trim pressesRemove scale, trim forged parts, and identify completed componentsLoad, clean, and lubricate forging equipment and machineryMeasure and verify workpiece dimensions using gauges during forging operationsMaintain proper alignment of dies and toolingOperate hand tools and equipment, including tongs, hoists, and trim pressesOperate Powered Industrial Trucks and Bobcats, as qualifiedPerform assigned tasks as part of a coordinated forge shop teamPerform other related duties as assignedPhysical Requirements:Constant standing, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, and walking throughout shift.Ability to work with parts and equipment up to 100 lb. throughout shift, with assistive lifting devices.Ability to work within very hot and industrial work environment during all seasons.Canton Drop Forge is a Drug-Free Workplace.
