Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Responsibilities
The Physical Therapist Assistant will:
- Provide physical therapy treatments in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) and Assisted Living (ALF) settings under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Deliver evidence-based geriatric rehabilitation and post-acute care services
- Implement individualized treatment plans focused on mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence
- Document daily treatments and patient progress in compliance with Medicare, PDPM, and state Physical Therapy regulations
- Participate in patient care conferences and interdisciplinary rehabilitation meetings
- Communicate effectively with supervising Physical Therapists, Rehab Directors, nursing staff, and care teams
- Support quality outcomes in long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation environments
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
- Active PTA license in the state of practice
- Experience in SNF, Assisted Living, long-term care, or post-acute rehabilitation preferred
- Strong communication and clinical collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
