Job Summary
Cantex Continuing Care Network is a Texas‑based healthcare organization providing skilled nursing, rehabilitation, home health, hospice, and senior care services. We are seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Managed Care Intern to support daily operations within our Managed Care department. This hands‑on internship provides exposure to payer contract management, reimbursement processes, claims tracking, insurance verification, and administrative support in a collaborative and fast‑paced healthcare environment.
Qualifications:Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
• Strong communication, organizational, and time‑management skills
• High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Interest in learning managed care processes, payer relationships, and healthcare reimbursement
Essential Functions
• Organize and maintain managed care contracts, payer documents, and internal files
• Track payer information, reimbursement details, and contract updates
• Support data entry related to insurance plans, reimbursement rates, and payer requirements
• Assist with insurance and payer verification tasks
• Monitor reports related to claims, denials, payments, and reimbursement trends
• Support follow‑up on basic claim or payment issues
• Maintain compliance documentation, audit files, and departmental records
• Coordinate communication between internal teams and external payers
• Assist with preparing reports, summaries, and payer‑related documentation
• Participate in team projects and provide general administrative support
