Director of Nursing

A Canterfield Of Ocala is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing, who has a solid track record directing and training staff for Assisted Living and Memory Care.

We are a senior Independent and Assisted Living community with Memory Care that is designed to set the STANDARD FOR EXCELLENCE in the state of Florida. We are seeking an experienced Nursing Director who loves seniors and is passionate about seeing that they have the very best services in senior living.

The successful candidate will have:

• At least 3 years of successful experience as a director or supervisor in Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing communities
• Must have worked at least 1 year in an Assisted Living community
• Be a licensed nurse
• A track record of excellent state surveys
• The respect of nursing staff they supervise
• The ability to clearly organize work for the nursing staff
• The strength to provide direction and discipline as needed to achieve quality care
• A reputation for showing genuine compass

They must also be able to:

• Work with minimal direction
• Setup staff schedules
• Provide direction and training to CNA’s and Med Techs
• Know and understand the state regulations
• Have a love of seniors and the patience to hear their concerns
• A professional appearance and attitude focused on superior customer service
• Be a solid team player

Duties will include at least the following:

• Review the medical needs of potential residents and current residents for compliance.
• Direct all nursing and care staff
• Monitors and assures quality in all aspects of care including medication management, provision and documentation of services, follow-through of physician orders and family/resident requests, assessments and service plans.
• Hires, supervises, motivates, and evaluates all nursing department associates. Plans, schedules and assigns nursing department work to associates to ensure coverage on a 24/7 basis

This is a full-time position Monday through Friday with on-call. It is a salaried position with a competitive salary. Our company provides vacation, holiday pay, and assistance with health and other insurances. We are a DRUG FREE community.
