Internship Overview

As an intern with Canteen (part of Compass Group), you’ll get hands-on experience in how we operate and support our clients. You’ll learn best practices from industry leaders and apply them to real-world projects.

Your internship may include work in areas like:

• Marketing & Customer Service
• Retail & Merchandising
• Branch Operations & Support Services
• Finance, Purchasing & Supply Chain
• Profit & Loss Management

You'll also gain exposure to our core services:

Job Responsibilities

As a Canteen intern, you’ll support daily operations and contribute to meaningful projects. Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with projects that improve business performance
• Supporting customer service efforts and occasionally interacting with clients
• Helping organize tasks for Micro Markets, Vending, and Coffee Services
• Sharing ideas to improve workflows and best practices
• Collaborating with your team to streamline operations and increase efficiency

Job Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, you should:

• Be currently enrolled in a college or professional hospitality or culinary program (proof of enrollment required)
• Meet your school’s GPA requirement for internships
• Be available to work 32–40 hours per week, based on business needs and program requirements
• Have strong organizational skills and be comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Understand the basics of customer service and client relationships
• Note: College credit is not required, but we can provide documentation if needed
