What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production planner position at CANPACK?
Essential Functions / Key Deliverables
- Advise and support Production Manager to effectively manage stock levels in preparation of seasonal demand to maximize product sales.
- Responsible for scheduling production lines to meet customer and forecasted demands.
- Plan machine schedules yearly, quarterly, monthly, and weekly.
- Manage stock effectively to meet seasonal demands.
- Maintain high level of inventory accuracy.
- Communicate the planning of production and / or stoppage of production lines to management.
- Assist planning team to organize timely delivery of goods to customers.
- Receive customer / work orders and ensure their completion using appropriate internal procedures.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of systems, including performing internal audits training as required.
- Receive / review orders and ensure their completion using appropriate internal procedures.
- Manage capacity planning for production lines.
- Effectively use SAP and computerized systems.
- Maintain good relationships with cross-functional departments.
- Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
- Associate’s degree in Supply Chain / Business Logistics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous SAP experience a plus
- Strong analytical skills, ability to draw conclusions from data.
- MS Office including Excel experience.
- Strong critical-thinking skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and organization.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to function both independently and as part of a team; must be flexible and excited to grow with the organization.
