Role Description This full-time, on-site Truck Driver role is based in McAllen, TX. The Truck Driver will operate company trucks to safely transport freight to local and regional destinations, following assigned routes and schedules. Daily responsibilities include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing loads, assisting with unloading as needed, and maintaining accurate logs and delivery documentation. The role requires consistent adherence to DOT regulations, company safety policies, and best practices for defensive driving. Truck Drivers are expected to communicate effectively with dispatch, report issues promptly, and represent Cano and Sons professionally with customers and the public.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a valid CDL Class A license and strong truck driving skills.
- Candidates should possess skills in safe operation of trucks, including basic vehicle handling and maneuvering.
- Candidates should possess the ability to assist with unloading freight and properly securing loads.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements for commercial drivers.
- Clean driving record with a history of safe driving and adherence to traffic laws.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, based on freight demands.
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods, climb in and out of trucks, and handle freight when required.
- Strong time-management, communication, and problem-solving skills when on the road.
- Previous experience in regional or long-haul trucking preferred.
- Eligibility to work in the United States and successful completion of background, MVR, and drug screenings.
