Position Summary
We are seeking hardworking and motivated operators to help support our vegetation management operations in Minnesota. Technicians will work with their crew to perform mowing events on solar projects throughout Minnesota. Ideal candidates will have experience operating farm/landscaping equipment such as tractors with implements, skid loaders and zero-turn mowers, as well as a strong commitment to safety and communication. Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Operation & Mastery
- Zero-Turn Operation: Perform mowing duties with a high degree of proficiency. You must be able to navigate safely around solar racking, motors, and cabling without causing damage.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform mandatory daily "tailgate" inspections (checking fluids, hydraulic lines, and grease points). You are responsible for the basic upkeep and readiness of your assigned machine.
2. Site Logistics & Safety
- Ability to Travel: This role requires the flexibility to travel to different job sites within Minnesota. Some overnight trips may be required. Additional opportunities available for candidates interested in traveling out of state.
- Hazard Communication: Proactively identify and alert the Crew Lead to ground hazards (washouts, mud, hidden debris) and environmental risks.
- Incident Reporting: Maintain a safety-first culture by immediately reporting any near-misses or equipment damage to the supervisor.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- License: Valid driver's license required, preference given to candidates with a valid Class A CDL
- Experience: 2 years of high-volume mowing or heavy equipment operation preferred
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work long hours outdoors in variable weather conditions
- Communication: Must be able to read and interpret written and verbal instructions in English
Schedule
- Typical workload is approximately 40–50 hours per week
- This is a seasonal position from May to November, with opportunities for full time work and/or advancement for the right candidates.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
