Job Summary
Perform instructional activities under the direct guidance of the Pre-Kindergarten teacher,
Principal, and Pre-Kindergarten Director.

Job Goal
To assistant in providing the best possible education and services to the students of the Cannon
County School District.
- Required to work under the direct guidance of the Pre-K teacher
- Assist individual students and small groups in developing academic skills
- Assist the classroom teacher with planning for instruction
- Perform such clerical duties as preparing instructional materials, making reports, and
- Administer all diagnostic tools as directed by the teacher
- Assist in preparing the classroom and organizing all instructional materials and
- Maintain student records as directed by the classroom teacher
- Assist in the supervision of students on bus trips as directed by the building-level
- Comply with all TDOE Pre-K policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as Childcare
- Required to attend district and state staff development, including Child Abuse
- Attend all in-service when directed to do so by the principal, Pre-K Director, or Director
- Prepare for breakfast and lunch in the classroom
- Recess or playground duty with teacher and Pre-K students
- Dismissal of Pre-K students and early arrival as designated
- Project a positive image of the Cannon County School District at all times
- Keep information confidential concerning school business
- Act in a professional manner at all times
- May operate a motor vehicle to conduct various work activities
- Successful completion of Criminal Justice fingerprint/background process and drug
- Appropriate Attendance Record
- Dress neatly and appropriately
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Skills are required to perform multiple, highly complex, technical tasks with a need to
competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include applying

software applications, and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
- Knowledge is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions,
and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw
conclusions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform
the functions of the job include appropriate codes, policies, regulations, and/or laws; age-
appropriate activities; lesson plan requirements; stages of child development; and
behavioral management strategies.

Physical Demand
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following
physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling and significant fine finger
dexterity. Generally, the job requires 40% sitting, 20% walking, and 40% standing.
