What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer-CDL position at Cannon Construction?
Cannon Companies is looking to add a new team member to our group. We are looking for a qualified applicant with experience in construction. Experience in Utility construction is a plus.
We are currently recruiting for a Laborer who has Warehouse/Procurement experience to be based at our corporate office which is located in Milton, Washington. At Cannon, you will be responsible for tracking and/or safely transporting construction equipment and materials to various job sites in the greater Puget Sound region. This position requires a Class A CDL with brake endorsement. Local deliveries only. Occasionally you will perform light duty construction work and assist with organizing, cleanliness, stocking and inventory control of shop / warehouse.
Requirements:
- Class A CDL License, with air brake endorsement required
- Must have a valid Drivers License and clean driving record
- 2-3 years Heavy Equipment operating experience
- Must have the ability to understand and follow specific oral instructions, ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
- Proficient with excel & word
- Have a positive attitude and be highly motivated
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Current DOT Physical card
- This is a safety sensitive role
Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision operate heavy equipment and perform routine maintenance including cleaning
- Track inbound and outbound construction materials
- Safely transport material and equipment to construction job sites in CDL truck.
- To gain and maintain trust & respect of team by being approachable, empathetic and can mentor others
- Work efficiently and effectively with little supervision
- Is innovative and highly collaborative
- Has initiative and drive and can multitask
- To gain knowledge and understanding of the telecommunications field
- May also loads dirt from streets into a truck; Digs ditches, trenches, and post holes and loads and transports construction materials, pick up debris on and around the work site.
