What are the responsibilities and job description for the ISP/OSP FIBER TECHNICIAN position at Cannon Construction?
Cannon Companies is looking to add new team members to our ISP/OSP Communications Division. We are looking for qualified applicants with a telecommunications cabling background. The position will be located in Seattle.

Fiber Splicer Technician Requirements:
- Have a minimum of 2 years' direct experience in the Telecom field.
- Be able to pass a pre-employment Drug Screening and Criminal Background Check
- Have a clean driving record and valid Driver's License
- Be willing to work flexible hours (days/nights)
- Have a positive attitude and be highly motivated
- Possess excellent analytical skills and ability to problem solve
- Ability to distinguish varying fiber colors.
- Copper slicing experience a bonus
- This position is a Safety Sensitive Role
Essential Functions:
- General knowledge of cable installation practices
- Proficient in fiber terminating, splicing, and testing both inside and outside plant
- Responsible for the installation, termination, splicing, testing, certification and documentation of fiber optic cabling as well as related fiber optic maintenance activities
- Telecom certifications are a HUGE plus
- Ability to read and understand complex prints for fiber slicing and equipment installations
- Have a desire and ability to support customer needs with strong attention to detail
- Perform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and use appropriate safety equipment
