Job Summary
The Cannabis Lab Analyst will perform analytical testing of cannabis samples to ensure compliance with state regulations and industry standards. This role involves operating advanced laboratory equipment, analyzing data, and maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct analytical testing on cannabis samples, including potency, terpene profiling, residual solvents, pesticides, heavy metals, and microbial contaminants.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as HPLC, ICP-MS, GC-MS, LC-MS, and qPCR.
- Prepare samples, reagents, and standards for analysis following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Document and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment in accordance with safety and compliance standards.
- Assist in method development and validation for new testing protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of results to clients.
- Stay updated on state regulations and industry trends related to cannabis testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a cannabis testing laboratory or a related analytical laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, or qPCR.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of state cannabis regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory information management systems (LIMS)..
