Position Summary

The Customer Service Associate I (CSA1) is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service while ensuring strict compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements. The CSA1 supports daily retail operations, assists customers with product education and purchases, maintains accurate transaction records, and contributes to a safe, clean, and welcoming store environment.

This position serves as the foundation for advancement within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales Support

  • Greet all customers in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Provide consultative assistance by educating customers on products, pricing, promotions, and responsible use
  • Answer customer questions accurately and thoroughly
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge through required training and self-directed learning
  • Support store sales goals through positive customer engagement

Compliance & Transaction Processing

  • Verify customer identification in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Accurately process transactions using point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Handle cash and electronic payments in compliance with company cash-handling procedures
  • Adhere to all local and state regulations governing retail operations
  • Maintain confidentiality and data privacy standards

Operational Support

  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and inventory management
  • Perform product merchandising and maintain organized display areas
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the store
  • Support opening and closing procedures as assigned
  • Report discrepancies, compliance concerns, or operational issues to leadership promptly

Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs
  • Demonstrate accountability, reliability, and professionalism at all times

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must meet all legal eligibility requirements for employment in this regulated industry
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Basic math and computer proficiency
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions such as scanning, typing, and handling products

Schedule Requirements

  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
