Position Overview
We are hiring an Equipment Operator/Laborer who can confidently run machinery and jump in on the ground when needed. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, works well in a team, and understands the pace and expectations of excavation work.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, and compactors
- Perform laborer duties including trenching, pipe laying, grade checking, shoveling, and site cleanup
- Assist with jobsite setup, safety, and daily operations
- Follow directions from the foreman and work efficiently with the crew
- Perform basic equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite
- Represent Canfield Landworks with professionalism and respect toward clients and team members
Qualifications
- Skid steer operating experience required
- Experience with other excavation equipment (excavator, loader, etc.) preferred
- Ability to perform physical labor in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
- Understanding of jobsite safety practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
- CDL a plus (not required)
