Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Counseling Center Clinical Director to lead and oversee the clinical operations of our mental health services. This pivotal role involves managing a team of licensed clinicians, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care, and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards. Duties
- Ensure use of evidenced based practices as related to the use of behavioral health counseling; maintain certification in TL-CBT, TBRI, and specialized EBT as applicable.
- Provide professional direction and oversight of resources for other therapists or counselors in implementing treatment plans and direct services for behavioral health counseling
- ·Attain competencies in Trauma Informed Treatment Model and ensure fidelity to Trust Based Relational Practices-TBRI in treatment processes across programs
- Complete clinical interview and assessment of treatment needs for all new youth and community clients to ensure appropriate treatment approach
- Provide oversight of therapists in organization of client files including their demographics, insurance information, assessments, treatment plan, confidentiality, interventions, and billing; assist therapists as needed to maintain accurate current client records
- ·Assess and make referrals or recommendations for psychological evaluation, Psychiatric medication management, behavioral health and testing; maintain documentation
- Develop individualized treatment plans which include behavioral goals that are objective, measurable, and time limited; provide timely updates to meet changing treatment needs
- Provide lead in oversight and therapy services for private pay community-based clients
- ·Assess and assign clients to therapists and counselors; monitor balanced client loads. Ensure implementation of optimal scheduling for client billing to support CCC budget needs
- Oversight of individual and family therapy in accordance with licensing standards; Maintain written documentation and ensure treatment plans are updated to reflect current needs.
- Oversight of specialized group therapy as determined by program and community need; substance abuse education, conflict resolution, anger management, or sexual abuse
- Consult with the CCC Medical Director monthly or as needed for optimal client care
- Provide client consultation, safety planning and use of evidenced based and evidenced informed practices as needed for the Child Advocacy Program
- Consult with Program Directors on regular basis in treatment planning and emergencies to maximize optimal integration of program services to improve youth outcomes
- Complete clinical interview and assessment of treatment needs for all new clients
- ·Assess and make referrals or recommendation for psychological evaluation, Psychiatric therapy, medication management, and testing; maintain written communication and documented contacts between agencies for progression toward treatment plan goals.
- Oversight and participation in developing individual treatment and discharge plans which include behavioral goals that are objective, measurable, and time limited. Monitor baseline measurements for progress and update; serve as client advocate in treatment decisions.
- Ensure use of evidenced based practices for behavioral health in The Center services; maintain and update files for use in client activities and evidenced based services
- Maintain required program statistics, demographics, and record of services. Ensure the documentation of services in accordance with ethical, licensing and accreditation standards
- Ensure oversight of therapists entering therapy notes within two weeks following service delivery to ensure timely billing practices; notify Director of Operations when complete
- Complete computerized progress notes within two weeks of service prior to payroll; document in client record. Maintain secure computerized progress notes and backup of files for billing. Manage notes and medical records in accordance with HIPPA privacy standards
- Maintain communication with caseworker and agency Program Director in relation to individual client progression or treatment needs
- Consult with Program Directors, therapists and counselors on routine basis to facilitate optimal services and youth progress on Service Plans; lead monthly Round Tables
- Consult with CCC Medical Director-psychiatrist monthly or as needed for optimal Treatment planning, medication management, or emergency intervention.
- Support oversight of psychiatric services as needed for clients; assist in monitoring symptoms for medication management for clients and report to guardian or psychiatrist
- Provide supervision for professional staff seeking licensure. Assist with supervision of graduate counseling interns when applicable.
- Facilitate mandatory reporting standards and compile Child Protection Investigation Reports; notify Chief Executive Officer, Assistant Director, and Director of Operations
- Serve on Outpatient Services and Professional Ethics Committees for accreditation
- Ensure compliance with all licensing, accreditation, and agency standards, rules and regulations regarding behavioral health treatment, groups, caseloads and referrals
- Supervise closure and maintenance of client records with aftercare recommendations. Assist Director of Operations with communication, documentation, information, and service authorizations so they can maximize billing and collections from Medicaid and MCOs
- Monitor therapist completion and approval of daily service logs and execution of services
- Provide professional services, counseling, and crisis intervention at unusual hours; coordinate and serve on-call therapist rotation for consultation on QRTP and TLP youth.
- ·Assist the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Operations with responsibilities necessary to ensure optimal agency and CCC management; report to Chief Executive Officer.
- Role model mature, empathetic, and responsible professional behavior in demonstrating appropriate social and emotional development and boundaries for clients.
- Maintain personal and professional development; attend seminars and conferences to enhance professional knowledge, best practice and maintain licensure.
