Basic Engineering Experience Required
The Hotel Houseman plays a vital role in supporting the overall housekeeping, cleanliness, and maintenance standards of the hotel. Candidate is REQUIRED to have basic engineering skills.
This position assists with cleaning public areas, restocking supplies, responding to guest requests, and supporting the Engineering Department with basic maintenance tasks. The Houseman helps ensure all areas of the property are clean, safe, and fully operational while upholding brand standards and delivering friendly, efficient service.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping Support
- Maintain the cleanliness of public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, fitness centers, meeting rooms, and outdoor areas.
- Remove trash, vacuum carpets, sweep/mop floors, and dust surfaces.
- Deliver linens, supplies, and amenities to housekeeping staff and guest floors.
- Assist room attendants by stripping rooms, removing linens, and organizing supplies.
- Ensure back-of-house areas remain clean and orderly.
Basic Engineering & Maintenance Support
- Perform simple repairs such as replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, repairing toilet handles, painting, and addressing minor plumbing issues.
- Assist engineers with preventive maintenance tasks when needed.
- Identify, report, and help resolve maintenance issues throughout the property.
- Operate basic maintenance tools safely and follow safety procedures.
Guest Service & Operational Duties
- Respond promptly to guest requests and provide friendly, professional assistance.
- Support special projects such as deep cleaning, moving furniture, room setups, and event support.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of storage rooms, carts, and equipment.
- Adhere to all brand standards, safety guidelines, and cleanliness protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping, custodial, or hotel support experience preferred.
- Basic engineering or maintenance experience required (e.g., minor repairs, troubleshooting, or building upkeep).
- Ability to work independently with strong time-management skills.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy items and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
