What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Services Representative/Front Desk position at Candlewood Suites/Springfield?

We are currently seeking a professional and service oriented person to complement our Front Office team. Basic duties would include answering phones, checking guests in / out, providing directions and information, and providing excellent customer service to all guests.
Job Duties Include:
*Providing information to guests about hotel policies, services and amenities.
*Responding to requests from guests for assistance and information about the local area (e.g. directions, places to eat, etc.).
*Selling rooms to “walk-in” customers.
*Entering/changing reservation information on the computer system.
*Posting charges to guest accounts.
*Processing payments from guests.
*Making necessary corrections to guest accounts.
*Informing housekeeping department about room status/availability.
*Listening for and responding to guest complaints.
*Operating hotel phone system
*Cleaning the front desk area.
*Maintaining daily logs.
*Balancing shift work and cash drawers.
*Washing and folding laundry.
*Collecting and taking out trash.
Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent plus some hotel or customer service experience. You will be required to Monday and Tuesday 7am to 3pm, Friday 3pm-11pm and/or weekends/holidays as needed. Candlewood Suites Bloomington/Normal is an equal opportunity employer.
