We are seeking a hands-on, organized, and experienced Housekeeping Manager / Executive Housekeeper to lead our hotel housekeeping department. This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards, organizing daily room assignments, inspecting guest rooms and public areas, supporting the team where needed, and helping build a consistent, accountable, and positive housekeeping operation.
This is not a “clipboard-only” management role. The right candidate must be comfortable working directly with the team, assisting with room attendant, laundry, houseperson, and inspection duties when needed, while also providing clear leadership and structure for the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily housekeeping operation, including room assignments, inspections, laundry flow, public area cleanliness, and team coordination.
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and brand standards are consistently met.
- Communicate clearly with housekeeping staff in both Spanish and English.
- Train, coach, and support room attendants, laundry attendants, housepersons, and inspectors.
- Monitor daily room status, arrivals, departures, stayovers, and special requests.
- Coordinate with the front desk and maintenance teams to ensure rooms are clean, inspected, and ready on time.
- Maintain organized housekeeping carts, storage areas, linen rooms, and laundry areas.
- Assist in the department when needed, including cleaning rooms, stripping rooms, laundry, or houseperson duties.
- Help manage housekeeping schedules, call-outs, productivity, and daily labor needs.
- Track supplies, linen, inventory, lost and found, and guest-requested items.
- Use hotel systems, apps, checklists, and basic computer tools to document work, inspections, room status, and department communication.
- Address cleanliness concerns, guest issues, and team performance concerns professionally and promptly.
- Promote a respectful, reliable, and team-focused work environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel housekeeping.
- Minimum of 6 months of leadership experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of hotel cleanliness standards and room inspection expectations.
- Ability to organize daily work flow in a busy hotel environment.
- Comfortable using apps, basic computer systems, checklists, and digital communication tools.
- Able to communicate professionally with employees, managers, vendors, and guests.
- Must be dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Must be willing and able to assist physically in the department when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience as a Housekeeping Manager, Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Supervisor, Inspector, or similar hotel housekeeping leadership role.
- Experience in an extended stay hotel environment.
- Experience with hotel systems such as Quore or similar maintenance/housekeeping communication platforms.
- Experience with scheduling, inventory, linen control, training, and team accountability.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, push, pull, and perform physical housekeeping tasks as needed.
- Must be able to lift and carry housekeeping supplies, linen, trash, and equipment within reasonable hotel operations standards.
- Must be able to work in guest rooms, laundry areas, public spaces, storage rooms, and back-of-house areas.
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for someone who leads by example, communicates clearly, takes pride in cleanliness, and can bring structure and consistency to the housekeeping department. The ideal candidate understands that hotel housekeeping requires urgency, teamwork, organization, and attention to detail every day.
This position is a strong opportunity for a housekeeping leader who is ready to take ownership of a department and help build a reliable, well-organized team.
