Group Details

As an integral part of its technology plan, Tradeweb is looking for a talented, self-motivated engineer to work within the team developing the company’s next-generation 24/7 digital-asset trading platform. The team builds cloud-based C microservices that orchestrates negotiation between counterparties, capture trades and record settlements on ledgers.

Tradeweb Technology jobs are fully remote. The Tradeweb Technology hub is located in our Jersey City office which can be used for team meetings and collaboration efforts.  There may be days where travel to the Jersey City office is recommended for organizational off-sites.

Job Responsibilities

• C application development for cloud-based microservices.
• Participate in application design and implementation; contribute to system architecture and drive hands-on implementation and roadmap decisions.
• Enhancement of our new platform components that handle negotiation of tokenized assets, trade capture and settlement orchestration.
• Development of backend services that integrate with DAML ledgers, existing TW internal services and external service APIs; design message formats and serialization (protobuf/flatbuffers or equivalent).
• Design and write unit and integration tests; participate in code and design reviews.
• Analyze and resolve CPU, memory and I/O issues to improve service reliability, prevent resource exhaustion, and ensure predictable behavior under load.
• Drive CI/CD, automated performance and correctness checks, and strong operational practices.
• Design and build systems engineered for 24/7 trading: fault-tolerant designs, graceful degradation, and fast recovery strategies.
• Recognize critical production and client-facing issues and prioritize remediation.
• Lead code reviews and contribute to system architecture and roadmap — with ownership for delivering the implemented solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in modern C (C 11/14/17/20): templates, RAII, move semantics, data structures and design patterns.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a C developer, 7-10 years preferred (Midlevel to Senior).
• Strong systems programming on Linux (gcc/clang, CMake, Conan or equivalent).
• Detailed knowledge of multithreading, synchronization, atomics, and concurrency debugging.
• Production experience shipping cloud-based microservices with high availability and robust operational practices.
• Proficiency with profiling/debugging tools (perf, gdb, valgrind, sanitizers).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Desirable skills

• Experience with Kafka (or similar message bus), AWS and Aurora/Postgres.
• Background in financial markets, trading systems, or digital assets.
• Familiarity with Node.js frontends and integrating backend services.
• Knowledge of enterprise DLTs (e.g., Canton) or crypto-native settlement flows.
• Deterministic, fault-tolerant system design - idempotency, backpressure and retry strategies, graceful degradation, and resilience patterns.
• Integration and API design for external services (gRPC/REST); familiarity with binary/message serialization (protobuf/flatbuffers) and designing stable API contracts.
• Robust integration and system testing with Python (pytest), including driving ledger sandboxes and orchestrating containerized test environments.

• The current pay range for this role is currently $150,000 to $270,000 per year, based on a regular, full-time schedule.  The amount of pay offered will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, market data, and internal guidelines.
• This role will also be eligible to participate in Tradeweb’s discretionary bonus program. 
• This role is expected to remain open until 12/29/25.

Salary : $150,000 - $270,000
