Under the supervision of the Controller, the Staff Accountant will play a pivotal role in the following areas:
- Providing support for accounts payable and receivable functions
- Streamlining and managing the company's bookkeeping processes
- Assessing and reporting on financial budgets while monitoring expenses
- Applying and interpreting accounting policies, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance
- Conducting reconciliation of landfill statements
- Undertaking basic office tasks including filing, data entry, phone handling, and mail processing
- Compiling and generating financial reports as required
- Safeguarding the confidentiality of all financial data
- Executing transactions, issuing checks, and maintaining ledger records and budgets
- Assisting in audits, conducting fact checks, and resolving discrepancies
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Possession of an Associate’s Degree in a relevant field
- 5 experience in Accounting or Finance
- Proficiency in computer skills with a focus on MS Office, particularly MS Excel, and QuickBooks
- Familiarity with fundamental accounting principles
- Exemplary attention to detail and accuracy
- Exceptional time management abilities coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated professionalism and adherence to ethical standards
- Proven capacity to handle diverse priorities while meeting deadlines
