Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of outbound logistics operations. This role ensures timely and accurate scheduling of shipments, preparation of required documentation, and communication with vendors and internal teams to maintain efficient supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics with at least five years of experience.
Key Responsibilities
· Schedule daily & future pickups with trucking vendors via phone and electronic systems. Ability to learn customer web-portals.
· Prepare and verify all necessary paperwork for outbound shipments, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, and customs invoices.
· Assist Customer Service with expediting shipments, updating, and modifying orders as needed.
· Follow up with carriers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and resolution of issues, including claims and reimbursements.
· Track and confirm that all freight claims are processed and paid to the company.
· Ensure all shipments comply with domestic and international shipping regulations and company policies.
· Work closely with warehouse and inventory teams to confirm product availability and accurate order fulfillment.
· Monitor shipment status, update tracking information, and provide regular reports to management and stakeholders.
· Identify opportunities to reduce freight costs and improve efficiency without compromising service quality.
· Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance logistics operations and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, transportation coordination, or supply chain management.
· Strong knowledge of freight carriers, shipping documentation, and customs requirements.
· Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills for vendor and internal team interactions.
· Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
· Must be able to stand/walk throughout the shift
· Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
· Experience with ERP systems (E-21) preferred not required
· Forklift experience required
· Familiarity with international shipping and Incoterms.
· Knowledge of freight claim processes and cost analysis.
Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
