We are seeking an energetic and experienced Lead Primary Montessori Teacher to join our team for the 2026 - 2027 school year. This position will begin in July of 2026. You will be leading a class of children, 3 years old - 6 years old through the school year, assessing their current developmental level, and designing enriching activities to meet the children’s collective and individual needs.
Are you an experienced Preschool Teacher but not Montessori trained? We will pay for the right candidate to become trained in Montessori.
This position is 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday - Friday. Summer hours are 8:30 - 3:30. Canandaigua Montessori School closes for Thanksgiving break, December break, February break and April break. There is an additional two and half weeks of paid time off in the Summer.

Responsibilities
- Create and follow a developmentally appropriate curriculum
- Assist children in developing their sense of self, confidence and independence.
- Assist children with developing social and emotional skills
- Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques
- Communicate with parents and other school personnel
- Assess student's skills and performance to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones
- Assoicates Degree or CDA certification
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
- Problem-solving and mediation skills
Salary : $38,000 - $41,000
