Job Description
Install, maintain and repair, as necessary, production welding equipment and electrical/electronic components of machinery and equipment. Assist Welding Specialist in research and development efforts to maximize efficiency and quality of welding as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Essential Functions
- Diagnose and repair welding equipment
- Repair of a variety of building/facility maintenance issues as related to welding needs
- Machinery rebuilding, upgrades, refurbishments, and replacements of welding equipment
- Experience in welding, metal fabricating, automation, and latest trends in industry
- Able to cut with oxy-fuel, plasma cutters, and arc-gouging
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Experience in electrical desired
Additional Responsibilities
- Work in a safe and conscientious manner
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including, but not limited to, on-site and off-site training courses, cleaning, trash/scrap removal, and other tasks as outlined by management
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective manner with customers, co-workers, clients and supervisors
- Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of the work area
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent plus five to ten years of related experience
- Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence
- Familiarity with AWS codes and standards
- Previous certifications in the following welding processes; FCAW, SAW, SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW
- Prior maintenance related experience, including electrical and pneumatic desired
- Experience with automated welding systems and PLC’s preferred
- High aptitude for critical thinking and problem-solving with the ability to think outside the box
- Familiar with NFPA 70 and the NEC codes and standards
- NFPA safety certifications preferred

General office and production environment. Daily exposure to computer displays and shop environments.
