Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining sterile fields, and providing animal restraint.
- Perform animal husbandry tasks including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring health status to promote optimal well-being.
- Conduct laboratory tests such as blood draws, urinalysis, and sample processing to aid in accurate diagnosis.
- Manage radiography (X-ray) procedures with precision, ensuring high-quality images while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Handle pet care responsibilities including pet grooming, dog training support, and ensuring animals are comfortable and secure during visits.
- Maintain detailed medical records, update patient charts, and document treatments accurately following veterinary terminology standards.
- Support critical care activities such as animal catheterization, intravenous therapy, and emergency response protocols to stabilize patients in urgent situations.
Requirements
- Proven kennel experience combined with animal handling skills across various species including dogs and horses.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and restraint techniques essential for safe and effective care.
- Hands-on veterinary technician experience with proficiency in laboratory procedures, X-ray imaging, and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and pet grooming practices to support comprehensive pet health management.
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and manage pet care routines confidently.
