Position Title: Benefit and Payroll Specialist, HR Department: Human Resources Entity: PVJC Reports To: HR Manager Location: Jeffersonville, Indiana Primary Responsibilities: Assist employees with payroll and benefits related matters. Review and validate timecards, overtime, PTO, and other payroll-related data. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws. Maintain payroll records and audit for accuracy. Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries. Support open enrollment, including system setup, employee communication, and benefit elections. Manage benefit enrollments, changes, COBRA notifications, and terminations. Support open enrollment, including system setup, employee communication, and benefit elections. Serve as liaison with benefits brokers and carriers to resolve issues. Provide guidance to employees on plan coverage, eligibility, and enrollment options. Maintain compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and other relevant regulations. Maintain accurate and confidential employee data within HRIS systems. Run regular audits to ensure data integrity. Generate reports on payroll, benefits, headcount, and compliance as needed. Support ACA reporting, 1095/1094 forms, W‑2 preparation, and other year‑end compliance work. Ensure adherence to company policies and employment law requirements. Assist with workers’ compensation claims and leave of absence administration All other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience: Associate’s degree in human resource or related field preferred. Bilingual in Spanish and/or Mandarin a plus 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a manufacturing/operations environment Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights. Experience in generating HR reports and familiarity with HRIS system, ADP, Workday. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective employee relations management. Demonstrated knowledge related to all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations related to compensation and employment relationship. Proficiency in Microsoft Office with demonstrated expertise in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
