Position Overview: As the Shop Floor Mechanic I, you will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems. About The Role: Perform maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, minor electrical, troubleshooting, and repairs to production equipment and Sewing Machines Respond to production maintenance requests by supervisors and/or the Production Manager and Lead Mechanic in a timely manner Communicate with Production Manager regarding any downtime or maintenance issues that may affect production Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties Perform planned preventative maintenance on production equipment according to the Preventative Maintenance Program and schedule Lubricate, clean, maintain and repair machinery, equipment and tools Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas Maintain adequate parts, supplies and equipment for the production and maintenance departments Provide suggestions on improving sewing processes Capable of programming PS700/800, assist with line design Capable of Template design and implementation for Richpeace, Juki PS700 and PS800 machines About You: High School diploma/GED 5 years of Maintenance experience Minimum 2 years experience working on Industrial Sewing Machines Building trades’ certificate, or equivalent, considered an asset Minimum 3 years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of sewing equipment Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Fire Code Able to create alternative solutions to problems Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner Strong attention to detail Effective verbal and written communication skills Strong time management skills Basic computer skills in order to respond to email inquiries and place orders; MS Office and Excel Must be comfortable with heavy lifting up to 50lbs Ability to prioritize, multi-task, operate proactively, work as a team and handle challenges Excellent decision-making abilities, interpersonal and analytical skills Ability to evaluate options and generate solutions Ability to programming PS700/800 Ability of Template design and implementation for Richpeace, Juki PS700 and PS800 machines Working Conditions: Manufacturing Environment What’s in it For You?
