Role Summary
The Masonry Foreman is a high-level leadership role responsible for overseeing the masonry department’s field operations. You will serve as the primary link between project management and the crew, ensuring that all brick, stone, and block projects are executed with technical precision, on schedule, and in strict accordance with safety standards. The ideal candidate blends expert-level craftsmanship with strong interpersonal skills to lead, mentor, and manage multiple job sites effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Project Management
· Crew Supervision: Serve as the "Head of Masons," directing daily activities and providing technical instruction to crews to ensure project milestones are met.
· Project Planning: Collaborate with the Department Head prior to project commencement to review the scope of work, timelines, and specific customer expectations.
· Resource Management: Monitor project timelines closely to keep crews on track and ensure efficient use of materials and labor.
· Mentorship: Train and develop apprentices and junior masons to maintain a high standard of workmanship across the team.
Technical Execution
· Site Layout: Analyze site dimensions and blueprints to produce design plans and oversee the initial setup of the job site.
· Expert Craftsmanship: Perform and oversee complex masonry tasks, including cutting/sawing materials for custom fits (windows, doors) and laying brick, stone, and block in diverse mortar beds.
· Construction oversight: Ensure the structural integrity of walls, fences, walkways, and other structures using various masonry materials.
Safety & Quality Control
· Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to all OSHA and company safety procedures, including the use of PPE (hard hats, safety glasses).
· Site Maintenance: Manage site cleanliness and tool maintenance to ensure a professional and safe working environment.
· Hazard Mitigation: Proactively identify, correct, and report safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Qualifications & Requirements
· Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of masonry techniques, materials (concrete, stone, block, brick), and technical drawing/blueprint reading.
· Leadership: Proven ability to manage a team, communicate expectations clearly, and resolve interpersonal conflicts on-site.
· Critical Thinking: Strong reasoning skills for troubleshooting site-specific layout challenges and design adjustments.
· Physical Requirements: Must be in excellent physical condition with the stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
· Safety Mindset: Deep understanding of masonry-specific safety practices and a commitment to a "zero-incident" workplace.
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
