Compensation: $32-$40/hr DOE
Availability: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Metal Fabrication Technician II (Tech II) to join the prototyping team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in fabrication, metrology, and the setup and operation of machines, including lasers, punches, routers, and brakes. Tech II responsibilities include manufacturing metal parts, evaluating drawings, and documenting work. This role is critical. Applicants must think independently and work with little supervision. Production schedules must be meticulously maintained.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other instructions, or procedures for correctness, clarity, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate to document and fix errors.
- Identify opportunities to simplify and improve techniques.
- Set up, and operate fabricating machines, such as press brake, laser/punch machine, horizontal bend machine, and CNC router for various metals including steel, aluminum copper.
- Manufacture metal and plastic parts in accordance with specifications and schedules.
- Accurately utilize measuring devices such as 3D Scanners, scales, gauges, rulers, micrometers, calipers, squares, and tape measures.
- Comply with all safety, quality, and work rules, guidelines, and regulations.
- Maintain production equipment and a safe, clean, and healthy work environment.
- Escalate problems and communicate progress.
- Accurately transact data and update dashboards.
- Handle, store, and retrieve materials.
- Support others.
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of fabrication experience; preferably in mixed metal fabrication.
- 1-2 years of experience or training in document control.
- Forklift certified.
- Lean manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately.
- Flexibility to adjust to challenges and changing priorities.
- Skill in promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.
- Willingness to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities
