PURPOSE
The Facilities Technician 1 is responsible for the safe, efficient installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Campus Auxiliary Services (CAS) owned and operated equipment and facilities, both on and off campus, under the general supervision of the CAS Facilities Director. This position also supports the upkeep of grounds and assists with maintenance and repair needs at off-campus properties to ensure safe, functional, and well-maintained environments.
In addition to facilities and maintenance responsibilities, the Service Technician I may provide operational support for other CAS services, including refuse and recycling operations, Catering, Concessions, and special events, as needed. The individual in this role is expected to represent the CAS Facilities Department professionally at all times by fostering positive working relationships with CAS employees, university personnel, vendors, and guests while upholding CAS Operating Values.

Education And Experience
1-2 years’ experience in the maintenance field with a working understanding of electrical, plumbing, carpentry basic refrigeration and schematic. OR 1 year of refrigeration and/or trades experience. Or equivalent combination of education/experience
OSHA 10-hour general safety card required within 12 months of employment
Valid NYS drivers license
Physical Requirements
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel crouch and twist for extended periods of time
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
Repetitive motion such as pushing pulling, reaching and grasping
Ability to work in inclement weather environments as needed
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
Ability to work in damp/humid and or extreme cold/hot conditions
Proficiency in work order processing systems, Microsoft and excel products

Salary: $20.50 per hour
